You are an entrepreneur, but money holds little appeal for you.  Connecting people to healthy food and gardening is the currency you covet.  Creating regenerative systems that care for people and the planet fascinates you, and you dedicate your life to it.  Most importantly, you start with yourself.  You do the simple yet laborious everyday tasks to embody your message.  You grow your own, cook with whole foods, share healthy meals with loved ones, and educate your children in the process.  Your expertise knows no bounds — permaculture, urban organic gardening, community development, social & emotional intelligence.  Yet, your wisdom is overpowered by your humility —- you are more prone to observation, than direction.  It’s virtually impossible for you to show up to an event without a pot of rice and beans and a kale salad to share.   And you have taught me Garden Jane.  Not to prematurely answer questions I am holding; how to get out of the way; how to design systems that will work in the long-term. You have taught me to listen and wait for the answers within; to practice self-care and self-awareness daily; to sprinkle laughter into every work day. So, here’s to you Jane Hayes —  you are a fierce warrior, and you yield your weaponry — food, knowledge, love — with mastery.
