You’ve been taking responsibility for food in the home for generations, and you continue to do so today. It’s you who are thinking “What’s in the fridge? What shall I feed my family tonight?” It’s you who does the clean-up, the dishes, the packing of lunches. And, around the world (including Canada), it’s usually you out in the fields growing the food too. (Not to mention canning/preserving it for winter). You nourish our bodies with wholesome ingredients, and you nourish our souls with the love you infuse.  It seems to me that most living creatures spend their days working to feed themselves. So, here’s to you WOMEN for doing the bulk of the work that all living creatures must do. And here’s to the growing volume of men who are transforming this reality.

This post is part of the HH Here’s To You Series, honouring remarkable people, organizations, and living creatures doing vital work within the Food Movement.
